A great opportunity for local Vermont food businesses
MONTPELIER – Vermont State Parks is requesting proposals for food truck vendors for Sand Bar State Park this summer.
Weekend slots are available in June, July and August with the option to operate on additional days. Vendors can apply for as many weekends as they want. The vendor will only be required to pay the state a nominal administration charge of $10/per day or $15/per weekend and the vendor keeps the rest.
Sand Bar is one of Vermont’s most popular state parks, hosting 40,000 – 50,000 international visitors per season.
Rob Peterson, Parks Regional Manager, is excited about this pilot project. “We’re looking for fun and tasty food options perfect for eating on picnic tables with a lake view. With the growing local food movement and creative food vendors in our area, we’re hoping to add a new dimension to the Sand Bar visitor experience—combining a contemporary twist to a classic outdoor venue—for an experience you can only find in Vermont.”
Craig Whipple, Director of State Parks adds, “This is an excellent opportunity for Vermont food entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and showcase Vermont’s excellent culinary skills and products.”
